•    Capacity building in improvement of the quality of coffee
•    Capacity building in gender and partnership between men and women

The intervention of COOPAC in the construction of schools and provision of school supplies have increased enrollment in the area of COOPAC activities and improved working conditions.

The living conditions of household of members of COOPAC have been improved on level of health, education, social life because income fromcoffee production is committed in payment of health insurance, education of children, improving living conditions, construction of new houses, purchase of livestock and investment in small businesses.

The fight against gender-based violence has led to the better coexistence between men and women.

Economically, the activities of
COOPAC influence for a lot the living conditions of its primary cooperative members and people living in its business area.
Primary cooperative members of
COOPAC receive discounts and advice for the good management of income from coffee and invest in other income generating activities.

In 2007,
COOPAC has established a system of microcredit “COOPEC KIVU CREDIT” for the sole purpose of helping its primary cooperative members to diversify their sources of income other than coffee. Loans granted to primary cooperative members enable them to establish small income generating activities. Initially supported by ACDI-VOCA, this microcredit system receives to date support from CEV- Vitré.

Since 2003, COOPAC has introduced a system of distribution of bonuses to the best producers of high coffees of the year. This system encourages and stimulates producers to improve the quality of their soil due to manure and produce significant large quantities of coffee of high quality.

For example :

In 2010 : Distribution of 53 cows, 103 goats, 683 hoes and 10 "Coffee Bikes".

In terms of environmental protection, COOPAC project of agroforestry of coffee with technical assistance from ICRAF and financial support from ACDI-VOCA has allowed producers to learn fighting techniques against erosion and environmental degradation, in addition to growing shade trees in coffee plantations.
