COOPAC Coffee Production
COOPAC - Technical Support
- COOPAC has given each sector of the region a farmers' mentor (or an agricultural advisor) in each of the two districts so that the advisors can familiarize the farmers with all the latest methods at their disposal. Every year COOPAC runs a training program for the farmers with the asistance of ACDI-VOCA and OCIR-CAFE and a support project in rural Minagri.
COOPAC - The Environment
- COOPAC filters off the waste by-products during the coffee washing process to fertilize the local soil rather than emptying them into the river or the lake.
- COOPAC distributes shade trees to coffee farmers in the districts of Nyamyumba and Kayove. These trees enable the farmers to cultivate a high quality organic coffee for international distribution, to protect the land from erosion and enhance the forest ecosystem in the region. This program is financed by ACDI-VOCA in partnership with COOPAC.
